A Lot Like Birds just completed an insane (and amazing) 25-day tour with NO DAYS OFF and somehow lived to tell about it.
And if that wasn’t impressive enough…on day 20, they added in a second show for the day…at the one and only Daytrotter.
Hear what they whipped up for the amazing folks at Daytrotter, right HERE!

A LOT LIKE BIRDS PREMIERES “CONNECTOR” MUSIC VIDEO ON
BLOODY-DISGUSTING.COM

KICKS OFF WINTER TOUR TODAY

Image description

Jan 08 – Sacramento’s A Lot Like Birds has partnered with bloody-disgusting.com to premiere their incredible new music video for “Connector”.

"Even though we put everything we had into painting the picture of the No Place house through words and sound on the album, John Howe crafted a visual tour for all of us, starting in the only place that connects all rooms to one another,” shares Cory Lockwood, one of the band’s duel vocalists/lyricists.

"If the house is a creature, the hallway is its spine and as it falls apart, so does everything it touches. The deterioration of an entire body of rooms based on the fall of an overlooked structure that holds them together was the founding theme of "Connector". And as we explored that idea, we noticed more and more. The similarities between passing through a hallway and passing our time, the way we hang pictures of ourselves along the wall but never look at them, the people we run into when we go anywhere (not necessarily as literal as from one room to another in a house) and how easily we view them as obstacles and forget them or figure out better ways to get around them."

"Connector" comes from A Lot Like Birds' recently released album, No Place, which explores the emotions behind rooms in a home, taking listeners on an eerie roller coaster of beautiful chaos, with arching cinematic interludes laced between destructively gut-wrenching and chill-inducing songs. An in-depth track-by-track feature written by the band can be found on RockSound.tv, giving further insight into the elaborate writing and recording process for No Place.

Today is also the kick off of A Lot Like Birds' full US headline tour with Sianvar, Stolas and The Venetia Fair. The coast-to-coast run starts in San Francisco and wraps up on February 2 in Chico, CA.

All upcoming A Lot Like Birds tour dates can be found below.

A LOT LIKE BIRDS ANNOUNCES
JANUARY 2014 US HEADLINE TOUR

NEW ALBUM ‘NO PLACE’ OUT NOW
ON EQUAL VISION RECORDS

Sacramento, CA’s A Lot Like Birds, who just wrapped up the No Place Tour, is already gearing up for their next American headline tour: The Substance Sequence Tour, which will kick off on January 8 in Oakland, CA. The month long run will feature support from Sianvar, Stolas and The Venetia Fair.

"The No Place Tour had the perfect blend of musicianship, new friendships made, and an eclectic mood throughout. We couldn’t be happier with our tourmates: HRVRD, Night Verses, and My Iron Lung. The audiences were appropriately insane and we will never forget the blood, sweat, and tears we left behind us,” shares A Lot Like Birds.

"On another exciting note, the next tour in January is going to be an entirely different beast. We are taking out Stolas, The Venetia Fair, and Sianvar across the country on another headliner. This is our "secret weapon" tour. Our drummer and bass player will be playing for two bands, the shows should be insane, and I can’t imagine anyone wanting to miss out on this experience. We are undulating with excitement to hit the road again after the holidays!"

A Lot Like Birds' dynamic new album takes listeners on an eerie roller coaster of beautiful chaos, with arching cinematic interludes laced between destructive gut-wrenching, chill-inducing masterpieces. Thematically the album revolves around a single concept, exploring the emotions behind rooms in a home. No Place is out now on Equal Vision Records.

An in-depth intricate track-by-track feature written by the band can be found on RockSound.tv giving further insight into the elaborate writing and recording process for No Place.

The sextet also recently debuted their music video for “Next To Ungodliness”. The intense video can be found HERE. The video was filmed in Sacramento, CA with director Michael Elinn.

A Lot Like Birds features duel vocalists, Cory Lockwood and Kurt Travis, who seamlessly intertwine, layer and harmonize while interchanging singing, screaming and spoken word duties, guitarists Michael Franzino and Ben Wiacek, bassist Michael “Butter” Littlefield and drummer Joe Arrington.
