CAPSIZE SIGNS TOEQUAL VISION RECORDSPREMIERES “I’LL TAKE THE BLAME”MUSIC VIDEORELEASES TWO-SONGDIGITAL SINGLE ANDLAUNCHES PREORDER FOR 7” VINYLANNOUNCES US HEADLINE TOUR AND DATES SUPPORTING BEING AS AN OCEAN

Today, San Diego, CA’s Capsize has announced their signing to Equal Vision Records and is premiering a music video for their new song “I’ll Take The Blame”. The video, which was directed by Tyler Ross (of Being As An Ocean), can be seen on capsize.merchnow.com.

The track comes from I’ve Been Tearing Myself Apart, a new two-song release from the band, which is also out today through digital retailers such as iTunes and Amazon.
The songs will also be released as a 7” vinyl in four color variants: white (limited to 150), coke bottle clear (limited to 150), transparent blue (limited to 150) and black (limited to 50). Black and blue variants will be available on tour only, while the white and coke bottle clear variants will be available exclusively through MerchNOW. Preorders for the online variants have launched HERE.
“We could not be more excited to finally release new music and continue to grow as a band. We spent last December on the road to and from the studio, where we worked with Brian Hood at 456 Recordings in Nashville, TN on the new tracks. We’re super happy with the outcome of our time there. Right when we got home we shot a video with our best friend Tyler Ross, from Being As An Ocean. We’re already really deep in the writing process for our full-length and are anxious to get back in the studio,” shares Capsize vocalist Daniel Wand. “The new songs are the perfect transition into a new chapter of the band that we have been working towards for a really long time.”
He continues, “Putting out music through Equal Vision Records - a label that we have all respected since we were getting into underground music - is truly a rewarding experience. Having any association with bands that were once a part of it like Converge, Armor For Sleep, Refused is just wild, really. It’s awesome to see Bane releasing a final record this year on Equal Vision as well. We can’t thank Dan and the rest of the EVR team enough for taking us in and having faith in our band.”
Capsize formed in 2009 and is comprised of Daniel Wand (vocals), Ryan Knowles (guitar), Andrew Tamayo (drums), Chris Darton (guitar), and Joey Toarmina (bass).
The melodic hardcore outfit will begin recording their debut full-length album in May with Jay Maas at Getaway Recordings in Haverhill, MA. Prior to recording, the band will head out on a west coast run supporting Being As An Ocean, followed by a coast-to-coast headliner with Choir Vandals. All upcoming tour dates can be found below.

SHOW REVIEW // William Beckett at Highline Ballroom in New York, NY

Drawing a close end to his tour with We Are the In Crowd, it seemed as if William Beckett was not running out of steam when he made a stop in New York City. Playing at the sold out Highline Ballroom did not stop Beckett from using his witty charm and jokes on stage to connect with the audience. As soon as the lights dimmed for his opening song “Compromising Me”, the crowd was easily singing along with the Chicago native.

After ending his first song, Beckett joked with the crowd that he was never given a huge introduction like some bands on the tour had received. Announcing that he was going to get a restart for his “epic” introduction, Beckett made a quick exit off the stage. A moment later, blaring through the sound system was the upbeat introduction he was looking for. Once again the crowd went wild as he climbed on stage with a roaring applause.

A few songs into the set, Beckett announced that he would be bringing Cody Carson from the band, Set it Off, to join him on stage. Together they sang a collaboration of modern pop song hits creating catchy melodies along with their cover. Beckett and Carson provided a heart felt performance and the audience at Highline gave a roaring response.

As the night came to an end, Beckett slowed it down with his song, “Just You Wait”. Beckett explained that the song had a strong sentimental meaning to him because he had wrote the song for his little sister. As kids, Beckett explained how he and his sister were bullied a lot and how no one should experience depression or negative thoughts toward themselves. As Beckett began to play, members of the audience began to bring up lights from their lighters or their phones, swaying back and forth in a drastic sing along. William Beckett left such a positive impression in New York City Thursday night. He was able to transform a venue into an acoustic sing along, radiating positive emotions to everyone in the crowd who was willing to listen.

BANE TO RELEASE FINAL ALBUM
‘DON’T WAIT UP’
MAY 13 ON EQUAL VISION RECORDS

ANNOUNCES US TOUR

PREMIERES BEHIND-THE-SCENES
LOOK AT NEW RECORD

APRIL 4 - Longtime Equal Vision Records’ band Bane will release their fourth and final full-length album, Don’t Wait Up, on May 13.

The album was recorded in Haverhill, MA with producer Jay Maas (Defeater, Bane).

Bane will headline in support of the album on a US tour this Spring, featuring support from Turnstile and Take Offense.

All upcoming shows can be found below. A second set of US tour dates will be announced in the coming weeks.

The bittersweet announcement of the forthcoming final album comes nearly twenty years after Bane’s first release, which led the band on countless tours and earned them widespread respect for being one of the hardest working bands in the business. Since their inception in 1995, Bane has toured all across the world countless times and has released three full-length albums: 1999’s It All Comes Down To This, 2001’s Give Blood, and 2005’s The Note, in addition to several 7”, EP and compilation releases.

“I can’t believe we did it…but we did it. To me it means, we’re leaving,” shares vocalist Aaron Bedard of the new album in the band’s recent behind-the-scenes video. “This is us with our jackets on, our hair is clean and we’re walking out the door and we look back at our loved ones and we’re like…don’t wait up…we’re going to be out late tonight.”

Preorder options, including vinyl, for Don’t Wait Up are available now at equalvision.merchnow.com.
