BRENT WALSH OF I THE MIGHTY
TO RELEASE SOLO ALBUM
‘7’ ON NOVEMBER 10

I the Mighty frontman Brent Walsh will release his debut full-length solo album 7 on November 10 via Equal Vision Records. The album was recorded with producer Jon Devoto of The Matches in San Francisco, CA.

A personal video introduction from Brent Walsh, featuring exclusive behind-the-scenes footage of him recording the album, can be found above and HERE.

7 has been something I’ve wanted to do for years, so I’ve spent the last year and a half recording it between I the Mighty tours. The album is seven years worth of material (hence its name), which explains the eclectic mix of songs and genres,” shares Walsh.

"Some songs were written when I was fresh out of high school and heavily influenced by pop-punk, but as the years went by I started experimenting with different avenues of music. It’s about half acoustic/half electric with a mix of blues, hip-hop, a cappella, pop, and singer/songwriter. I had a blast recording it with my friend/producer Jon Devoto and am so excited to finally have a release date for something that’s been in the works for so long."

With I the Mighty, Walsh has toured and shared stage with the likes of Coheed And Cambria, Deftones, The Dear HunterSay AnythingEisley, letlive., and the 2014 Vans Warped Tour, where the band performed daily on both the Kevin Says Stage and at the Acoustic Basement Tent.

I the Mighty is currently writing for their sophomore album, due out next year. Their debut full-length, Satori, is available now along with a recent three-song digital single release – “Love Your Sin”, which was accompanied by a music video that can be seen on Youtube.com/equalvision.

The tracklisting for Brent Walsh's 7, can be found below. Pre-order details will be announced soon and will launch in the upcoming weeks.

WILLIAM BECKETTPREMIERES “LOCK IN” THEME SONG TO NEW JOHN SCALZI NOVEL TOUR DATES ANNOUNCEDWITH THE MAINE AND NICK SANTINO

Equal Vision Records’ William Beckett has premiered a new song for “Lock In” – the theme song to author John Scalzi’s latest NY Times Best Selling novel of the same title. This past week, it was also announced that Legendary TV acquired the rights to the book and are expected to adapt it into a pilot for a potential series.

"In most ways, this collaboration of novel and song is a case of two worlds colliding," shares Beckett. “That’s what excited me most when Scalzi approached me to write the theme for his book Lock In. Being mutual fans of each other’s work, it seemed like a great fit, and I’m always up for a challenge. Then after reading the novel I was completely taken by the story and I KNEW that I had to be a part of it. The song reflects the dark mystery that surrounds Scalzi’s world of Lock In, while painting a broader stroke on the overall universal themes of isolation, fear and response in the face of catastrophe - both on an individual level and on society itself. A world where the need to “belong” and feel “normal” feed the unending hunger for power and control. Sound familiar?”
The song is now available on Equal Vision Records’ Bandcamp page and is expected to be available on digital retailers, such as iTunes and Amazon, on October 27. The song can be heard now on Scalzi’s Youtube Channel.

Beckett also recently premiered another new single - “Walls” via The Huffington Post. The song comes from a two-song digital single that is out now and features a newly recorded and revamped piano version of “Just You Wait” – a song that originally appeared as a bonus track on his debut solo full-length album Genuine & Counterfeit, which was released last Summer.

Beckett recently wrapped up a Summer amphitheater tour with Rick Springfield and Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo, and is currently on tour with Paradise Fears. Later this Fall, he will head out for a series of one-off shows including three Midwest dates with fellow indie-pop singer-songwriter Nick Santino, and a special show in Boston with The Maine.

All upcoming tour dates can be found below.
