SEP 23 - A Lot Like Birds will head out on a US headline run this Fall, with direct support from Equal Vision Records labelmate HRVRD and additional support from Night Verses and My Iron Lung. The band also recently announced a co-headline run with Lions Lions. All upcoming tour dates can be seen below, with several additional headline dates to be announced soon.
“This is our first headlining tour since our very first tour, funny enough,” shares A Lot Like Birds’ guitarist Michael Franzino. “We are excited to have enough set time to do this record justice and still play some familiar songs as well.
Drummer Joe Arrington adds, “People will be able to revisit our last album for a few tunes but the new songs, and more importantly, the new and more truthful atmosphere representing our band, will definitely take precedence. This tour will be full of talent and full of weird. We couldn’t be happier with the interesting array of terrific musicians we’ll be sharing the stage with this time around. I’d like to think this combination of bands will be a spectacle.”
The Sacramento, CA-based band will release their next full-length album, No Place, on October 29. A new album teaser is premiering today and can be seen here: Youtube.com/equalvision.
No Place showcases A Lot Like Birds idiosyncrasies through dark, intricate soundscapes, that range from crazy and chaotic to beautiful and melodic. Thematically the album revolves around a single concept, exploring the emotions behind rooms in a home. Guitarist Ben Wiacek elaborates, “The idea was to identify the emotional dichotomy of the “home” experience; the home is a place of serenity and/or a place of chaos. You’ll notice this album is much darker but more focused than anything we’ve done before, and I hope we achieved something that will be considered important and relevant to a lot of people’s lives.”
